What Am I Supposed to Do?

Presented at Curwensville Alliance on 6/21/26 by Pastor Steve Shields.

What do you think God wants you to do with your life?

There are some wrong answers like God wants me to have a good time. Or God wants me to do something “spiritual”.

Just because God doesn’t call you to something that we generally label as “ministry work” doesn’t mean He doesn’t care what you do with your life.

There are some fundamentals of serving God. God doesn’t need you to do anything. It is a privilege to be called to do anything for God. God is interested in forming you as a person.

God wants you to make sure your life shows that You’ve been chosen by God. He wants you to make good things happen. God wants you to glorify Christ by being like Christ.

There are certain things in this world that God has for you to do, and you’re just the right person to do them!

Misplaced Fear

Presented at Curwensville Alliance on 6/14/26 by Louie Tkacik.

Listen as Louie Tkacik speaks about misplaced fear.

Misplaced fear is replacing the reverence/adoration for God that we were created to have with a looming anxiety about anything else.

Misplaced fear is a distraction.

Misplaced fear ignores God’s attributes.

Misplaced fear overlooks the cross.

Still True

Presented at Curwensville Alliance on 6/7/26 by Rev Scott Ream.

Rev Scott Ream takes us through Romans 8 to show what God wants you to know in your hardest season with 5 truths.

God sees you. You are known, and you are His! God didn’t look away. He saw it. He saw all of it.

God didn’t do this. Creation is groaning. This is not God’s design. God built a garden. Sin broke it. And as a result everything on this planet is broken. On earth, God’s will is often resisted. God’s seeing is not the same as God’s causing.

God grieves with you. The Spirit of God groans with us. God could eliminate all evil. But to do that, He would need to eliminate us. The Spirit groans. Creation groans. We groan. And the Spirit groans with us.

Nothing is wasted. God works in all things. Not all things are good. Romans 8:28 does not say everything that happens is good. It does not say everything that happens is God’s will. It says God works in all things. Redemption doesn’t erase the wound. It give the wound a future.

God won’t let go. No condemnation. No separation. Nothing. Your pain is not God’s punishment. God is not keeping score.

If God is for us, who can be against us. One day the table will be full again. Every seat filled. Every person present. No more empty chairs.

Finding Real Contentment :: PHILIPPIANS

Presented at Curwensville Alliance on 5/31/26 by Pastor Steve Shields.

Pastor Steve takes us through Philippians 4:10-23 concerning contentment.

Paul has a strange view of contentment. His contentment doesn’t come from his possessions. His contentment isn’t a zen kind of thing. His contentment isn’t because he doesn’t know any better.

There are three decisions that take us to contentment. Embrace a worthwhile life objective. Worthwhile in terms of outcome and effectiveness. Engage in meaningful partnerships. Partnering in a worthwhile life objective enhances contentment. Expect a satisfying outcome. Expect things to change in time.
