The theologian, who I won&#8217;t name, is not from &#8220;our tribe&#8221;, so she asked, &#8220;What do you think about him?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My reply &#8212; typed and sent without a second thought &#8212; went like this: <em>He doesn&#8217;t know what he believes.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterward, I thought to myself, <em>&#8220;Steve &#8211; you are so arrogant!!!&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"http:\/\/curwensvillealliance.org\/podcasts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-623\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/podcasts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-2.png 800w, https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/podcasts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-2-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/podcasts\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/image-2-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In those moments, and countless others, I see arrogance in my own heart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I hate it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And chances are, if you have a genuine sense of self-awareness, you see arrogance in your heart as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>That arrogance can be a lid.
