Your closeness to someone is tied to how much time you spend with them. If you spend five minutes a month with someone, then you&#8217;re five-minutes-a-month close. If you spend five minutes a day with them, then you&#8217;re five-minutes-a-day close. I&#8217;m much more intimate with someone that I see every day than someone I see once or twice a year. It&#8217;s no different with God. If you want to develop your relationship with him, you have to spend time with him.
