{"id":1724,"date":"2021-04-06T11:15:44","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T15:15:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/?p=1724"},"modified":"2021-04-06T16:57:29","modified_gmt":"2021-04-06T20:57:29","slug":"have-you-been-priesting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/?p=1724","title":{"rendered":"Have You Been Priesting?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Do you ever feel spiritually depleted &#8211; or like your spiritual life has deteriorated?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was thinking of how Jesus exercised his priestly function on earth by interceding for his disciples. We call one such intercession his <em>High Priestly Prayer<\/em> (John 17).  Another example is what he says on the cross, &#8220;Father forgive them for they know not what they do.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>One of the first times we see a believer doing this is when Stephen is stoned. <\/strong>Stephen sees Jesus standing at the right hand of the Father &#8211; interceding. At that same moment, Stephen is joining in the priestly role of intercessor saying, &#8220;Lord, do not hold this sin against them.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s intercession.
