{"id":1094,"date":"2020-05-04T15:48:13","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T19:48:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/?p=1094"},"modified":"2020-05-04T16:21:03","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T20:21:03","slug":"remembering-ed-mcculley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/?p=1094","title":{"rendered":"Remembering Ed McCulley"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>During COVID-19, we will be noting any passing members &#8212; briefly commemorating their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"773\" height=\"707\" src=\"https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1095\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image.png 773w, https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image-300x274.png 300w, https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image-768x702.png 768w, https:\/\/www.curwensvillealliance.org\/pastorsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/image-328x300.png 328w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 773px) 100vw, 773px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This past month, Ed McCulley, an elder-emeritus from our fellowship went to be with the Lord Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ed not only served as an elder, but as deacon and as one of the technical people &#8212; faithfully preparing PowerPoint slides for the early service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Something we remember about Ed was that despite his tough-sounding teasing, he was a real softy, often weeping when he prayed &#8212; especially if the need concerned a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When called upon to give thanks at The Lord&#8217;s Supper, Ed would also hold back tears as he expressed gratitude for God&#8217;s love for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Curwensville Alliance will miss Ed and will continue looking after his wife, remembering her in our prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A graveside service was held for Ed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you, Ed, for your faithfulness to Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During COVID-19, we will be noting any passing members &#8212; briefly commemorating their lives.
