How are your Christmas preparations coming along? Do you have your tree up? Do you have all your shopping done? Do you have all your baking completed? What about all the cards – are they all sent out? There are lots of things we do to prepare for the holidays – for Christmas.
If you think of the biblical Christmas story you can see that some were prepared and some were not. Mary – she was evidently prepared. When the angel showed up, he didn’t say, “I know this is a big decision – so maybe you should take some time to think about it. Why don’t I stop by next week and you can give me your decision then.” The angel told her what would happen and Mary’s response shows that she was prepared. “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her. — Luke 1:38 (NIV)
