1. God commanded Israel that those who practice sorcery should not be permitted to live in the Kingdom.

Do not allow a sorceress to live. — Exodus 22:18

2. Seeking to communicate with spirits or with the dead is to become defiled and unfit to worship God.

Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. — Leviticus 19:31

3. God forbids turning to mediums or spiritists.

I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people. — Leviticus 20:6

4. The punishment for these sins was death.

A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.'" — Leviticus 20:27

5. Fortune telling, sorcery, interpretating omens, witchcraft, casting spells, and communication with spirits or the dead are condemned by God.

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. — Deuteronomy 18:10-11

6. The Canaanites lost their land because of these practices.

Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. — Deuteronomy 18:12

7. Saul was rejected for sins such as these.

For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king. — 1 Samuel 15:23

8. When Saul was in tune with God, he expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land.

Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land. — 1 Samuel 28:3

9. When Saul was in rebellion he consulted a medium.

He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets. Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her."

"There is one in Endor," they said. — 1 Samuel 28:6-7

10. Although he killed the priests of God, Saul's death is attributed to his consulting a medium.

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, — 1 Chronicles 10:13

11. Things done by King Manasseh were evil in God’s sight.

He sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger. — 2 Chronicles 33:6

12. One of the reasons God rejected Israel was because of their eastern superstitions and fortune telling.

You have abandoned your people, the house of Jacob. They are full of superstitions from the East; they practice divination like the Philistines and clasp hands with pagans. — Isaiah 2:6

13. It is insulting to God to consult the dead instead of him.

When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? — Isaiah 8:19

14. A fortuneteller could very well have a demon.

Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her. — Acts 16:16-18

15. At Ephesus, those who came to Christ renounced their magic practices.

A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. — Acts 19:19

16. Witchcraft is listed among the acts of the sinful nature.

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. — Galatians 5:19-21

17. Those who practice magic arts are sentenced to the lake of fire.

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars — their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. — Revelation 21:8

18. People who practice magic are not found in heaven.

Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. — Revelation 22:15

19. The growing popularity of such occult activity is prophesied by Scripture.

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. — 1 Timothy 4:1

20. There is no sense in thinking that the evil side is the stronger side. God’s existence makes evil shake with fear.

You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that — and shudder. — James 2:19
